EXAMINATIONS AND OPEN DAYS/ PARENT TEACHER MEETING


Every month tests in each subject are conducted to evaluate the monthly progress of a child in academics. Apart from this, daily and weekly tests are conducted by the teacher in class to acknowledge the daily and weekly progress of a child. These test serve as a tool for formative assessment. Semester system is adopted in school. Syllabus for the year is divided into two semesters. Examination for the first semester is held in the month of September. The examination for second semester is held in the month of March. Apart from this monthly tests are held during the last week of each month. A child is promoted on the bases of monthly tests and performance in semesters.

No student is exempted from examination except on medical grounds, which should be supported by a certificate from a qualified doctor. Absentees are fined Rs. 100/- per paper. A day in a month is observed as open day/ P.T.M. Parents are invited to school on that day as per notified time to discuss the monthly progress of their ward with the class and subject teacher. Each Child show cases his/her work and academic ability before parents on that day.


ASSESSMENT POLICY



The scholastic session is divided into two terms. Each term ends with a Written Assessment. Marks obtained are recorded in the Result Card.

First Term:
Duration: April to September
Mid Term Written Assessment: September
Second Term
Duration: October to March
Final Written Assessment: Feb/March



COMPONENTS OF INTERNAL ASSESSMENT



For Classes I –X

Periodic Test- Apart from the Term Examinations two more periodic tests will be held for the purpose of gradient learning of these tests one will be Pre-Mid Term in July and the other Post Mid Term in January with a portion of the syllabus cumulatively covered.

Multiple Assessment based on quizzes, oral test, concept map, exit cards, visual expression etc. will be made

Portfolios on the basis of class work plus peer assessment, self -assessment, achievements of students in the subjects, reflections, narrations, journals etc. will be prepared.

Subject Enrichment consisting of aspects like Practical work for Science; Labwork for Mathematics; Map work & Project Work for Social Science and Listening and Speaking skills for languages etc. will be conducted throughout the year

For Classes XI – XII

Comprehensive Internal Assessment/ Project work/ Practical and Viva will be conducted twice in an year / as per the CBSE’s latest guidelines.

Note: Parents are expected to personally collect the Result Card of their wards on the Result Declaration Day

Course of study

  • Course of study is according to the NCERT and CBSE, New Delhi. The school has an integrated graded study course running in 16 years from Pre-Nursery to 10+2 so that a child when he/she leaves school after 16 years of training and education, feels confident and capable of meeting the challenges of life.

Promotion

  • Promotion to pupils at the end of the year will be decided on their performances in all Examinations. Pupils, must, therefore, work steadily and sincerely from the beginning of the year. To be eligible for sitting in the exam, a pupil must have 75% attendance of the total number of working days.

    • Attendance - 75% of the total number of working days.
    • Minimum 70% marks in each of academic subjects in classes Nursery to II, 60% marks in classes III to V, 50% marks in classes VI and VII, 40% marks in classes VIII to XII.
    • Any pupil who fails for the second time in the same class will be asked to withdraw his/her name from school.
    • Promotion on trial basis shall not be granted and promotions once refused will not be reconsidered.
